Along my journey as a photographer, there’s nothing more heartwarming than a praise or comment on my photos. It serves as a nice note to let me know I’m going somewhere, and of course it’s also a lovely ego boost!

Recently, I’ve been shooting a lot more sensual black and whites, in a bid to develop more useful portfolio for the direction I’m heading. The good thing about black and whites is that they are a lot easier to manage and control, since there’s no worry about colours, just adjusting the contrast. 

My usual habit is to put some of my works up on my MSN display picture. To my surprise and utter delight, the recent images have been evoking positive responses from a number of female acquaintances. When two of them express interest to be photographed by me, and one of them actually cancels a holiday trip for it, I can’t help but beam with pride.

Seriously though, I’m still far from good. But at least now I’m good enough to be appreciated by a few people. Hopefully in time, this appreciation will grow, and I’ll actually become good enough to do this full time!

Yes, if you can’t tell by now, this is a self-serving, head-expanding, ego-stroking post! Hahahahaha.

One of the biggest things on my agenda this trip, was a photoshoot. Managed to arrange one with the lovely Lilan, and it turned out to be the best souvenir I brought back.

Again, there are so many nitpicks, but I guess the biggest one was the lack of time. I could hardly pay attention to the details (I guess her wonderful figure wasn’t helping either), and I was still too apprehensive to use my rusty Japanese, so by the time we both warmed up, it was time to wrap up.

Still, it was a great experience, and shooting will be the main agenda the next time I go back.

Finally. Something closer to what I’ve been envisioning.

It’s been 2 long months since I had any shoots. This is from my most recent shoot on Saturday, and I’m really really pleased with the results. Considering the girl was uber late, and I was in a pissed and sick mood. But can’t stay mad for long, when the photos come out so darn near the way I want it.

I finally processed the long overdue photos of Loren, the girl I gushed about 1.5 months back.

 

Updated the One Light Project as well.

And about the rant in the last post, looks like I was wrong. She really was engaged to shoot the concept before I suggested it. Oops.

Ok, since I talked about shoots in my previous post, and I have no photos to show for it, I’m gonna kill two birds with one stone in this post.
